General

How many rooms does the hotel have?

The George Hotel has 139 guest rooms and suites. Visit our Accommodations page to see available options.  

When is check in/check out time?

Check in is at 3:00 p.m., check out is at 12 noon.

Do you allow photo shoots and filming?

We do! All shoots are at the discretion of the hotel and require at least 48 hours notice, proof of insurance, and a signed waiver. Location fees start from $500. To inquire about a shoot, please contact sales@hotelgeorge.com for more information.

Do you offer wedding room blocks?

At The George Hotel, we do offer room blocks for weddings or special events. Visit our Room Blocks page to find out more and contact us.

Do you allow smoking on property? In the rooms?

The hotel is entirely non smoking.

What attractions are close to the hotel?

The George Hotel is near all the main attractions and monuments of Washington DC including Capitol Hill, the Smithsonian Museums, and more. Check out our Location pages for all the details.

Hotel George Reservations

I booked on a website other than the hotel website and I need to make a change to my reservation. How do I do this?

If you made a reservation using a non Kimpton website please contact your service provider directly to make modifications to your reservation.

What is your cancellation/deposit policy?

Reservations must canceled at least 72 hours prior to your arrival date, 3:00 p.m. local hotel time to avoid a one night's room and tax charge to your credit card.

Do you have connecting rooms?

We do have connecting rooms. Connecting rooms must be requested in advance and cannot be guaranteed.

Do you have accessible rooms?

Yes, we have accessible rooms. Some of these rooms include modified bath tubs with bars and added facility, and some include a roll-in shower. To find out more about our accessible rooms, click here.

What types of packages are available?

We offer a variety of packages intended to personalize your stay and make it special with added value amenities and perks or exclusive discounts and rewards. Check out our Packages + Promotions page to learn more. 

Do you offer discounts on last minute bookings?

Depending on availability, there may be discounts on last minute bookings. Feel free to check in our bookings system or give us a call to find out.

 

Do you offer discounts on extended stays?

We do work with travelers on extended stays. Visit our Offers page to learn more or contact us by phone. 

Is my ID/passport required at check in?

A valid government issued photo ID is required at the time of check in.

What is the minimum age requirement to check into the room?

Special rules may apply for guests under the age of 18. This varies by hotel so please contact the hotel for further information prior to making a reservation.

Do you have an early departure fee?

The hotel may charge an early departure fee up to one night's room and tax.

How do I get to the Hotel?

What are your cross streets?

The hotel is located on E Street between New Jersey Avenue NW and North Capitol Street NW.

Do you have onsite parking? How much is parking? Is it included in my room rate?

Valet parking is available on property. It is 24 hours with in-and-out privileges. It is not included in the room rate. Overnight Valet Parking $60 + Tax.

Do you offer free shuttle service from the airport?

There is no complimentary shuttle service. Please contact the concierge for transportation assistance at (202) 347-4200.

Accounting

Does the hotel require a credit card hold for incidentals?

Yes, the hotel requires an incidental hold of $100 per night for all reservations. Incidental hold will be released 3-7 business days after departure once final charges have been settled on the guest folio.

What forms of payment are accepted to pay for my room?

A valid credit card is required to check into the hotel. Payments in cash, by credit card, or travelers check (personal checks are NOT accepted) are accepted at check out.

What does the guest amenities fee/additional charges include?

Your daily guest amenities fee of $32 + tax includes the following:

  • Complimentary high-speed WIFI
  • Complimentary printing assistance through the Front Desk
  • Complimentary local and long distance calling
  • 10% transportation credit
  • $10 Food and Beverage Credit applicable for use in Bistro Bis
  • 10% discount off Old Town Trolley bus tours
  • Board Game rentals available upon request through the front desk
  • Children’s Book rental program available upon request through the front desk
  • $5 bodega credit per day
  • City Center Passport

Families

Is the hotel family-friendly?

Our hotel is perfect for families traveling with children. We offer child equiment by 4moms, including playards, baby baths and infant seats along with special family-friendly overnight packages and amenities. See our latest kid-friendly hotel offers

Are there activities nearby for kids?

There are many attractions that are perfect for kids just a short walk, bike or metro ride away from our hotel. Some of our favorite nearby spots for families include:

  • Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute
  • United States Botanic Garden
  • Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden
  • Beauvoir Outdoors Playground
  • National Museum of American History

Do you have cribs or Pack 'n Plays for families with young children?

We’ve teamed up with the innovative baby brand, 4moms, to provide guests traveling with infants the best in baby gear during their stay. Available for complimentary use is the brand’s roomie Breeze Plus Playard with a bassinet and changer option.

Do you offer Breast Milk storage for parents? Can I arrange a milk-safe fridge during my stay?

As part of our On-Demand Family Fridge program, guests can have one of our dedicated Mini Me Milk Fridges delivered to their room as a complimentary service, just by asking the front desk. The fridges allow parents to store milk while staying with us, at the temperature required by the CDC.

Pets

Are pets allowed? Are there restrictions for weight, height or types?

The hotel is pet friendly and there are no pet restrictions. However, we request that during check in a pet form is completed and that the pet is caged or out of the room during housekeeping service.

Do you have pet sitting or dog walking services?

Guests may request pet services including but not limited to pet sitting, dog walking, and pet spa services by contacting the front desk.

Do you have pet free rooms for those with allergies?

Guests may request a pet free room.

What's the closest place that I can take my pet for a walk?

The closest place that you can walk your dog is the National Mall; please see the front desk for a map and directions.

Meetings and Events

How do I book a meeting?

Concierge

I want flowers, chocolates, champagne, gifts sent to the room. How do I do this?

Please contact the concierge for any concierge related requests 24 hours a day.

Amenities

Will your rooms allow rollaways/cribs/playards? Is there a charge?

Some of our rooms can accommodate cribs or rollaway beds. There is a $25 per night rental fee for rollaways.

How much do you charge for high speed/wifi internet access?

Whether you're plugged in or not, IHG® Rewards Members get complimentary access during every stay. Wireless internet is also available for $12.99 per 24 hours for non-members.

Do you have a fitness center? What kind of equipment does it have? What are the hours?

Yes, we do. It is open 24-hours a day and features various cardio vascular machines as well as a selection of free weights.

Do you have a pool?

The hotel does not have a pool.

Do you have a spa? What are the hours?

The hotel does not have spa on property. Please contact the front desk for recommended spas nearby.
